(PrimeChronicle.org) – During a conversation with comedian Jimmy O Yang, Harris accidentally used profane language while telling a story about her mother. Harris was speaking on the barriers she has broken as the first Indian American woman to be elected as vice president. During the statements, Harris used the phrase “you need to kick the f*cking door down,” in reference to breaking glass ceilings. After the statement, Harris apologized for her profane language.
Former President Donald Trump as well as President Joe Biden have both used profane language in public settings. During a rally, Donald Trump called his current “hush money” trial bullsh*t to which his audience responded by exuberantly chanting the word back at him. Democrats reacted with a similar excitement when Biden was caught saying that legislation passed alongside former President Barack Obama was a “big f*cking deal.” Democrats even started to sell t-shirts with the President’s phrase.
The Harris Yang conversation was to honor Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Icelander Heritage Month.
Harris is notorious for her word-salad speeches and statements. While guesting on MSNBC’s The Last Word she fumbled over a statement talking about the upcoming presidential election. Harris said every election cycle is “the most election cycle of our lifetime.” The vice president did not correct herself. Harris is known to repeat words and phrases within the same sentence. On one occasion, she used a self-referential statement to define the meaning of the word “culture.” The vice president defined culture as culture. Harris did not correct her definition.
Directly after the fumbled glass ceilings comment, Harris criticized conservatives and asserted that Trump and his supporters are using crude tactics to divide American citizens in order to create unrest. Across social media Harris is frequently mocked for her word salad style. Some X (formerly known as Twitter) commentators speculated that Harris’s fumbles are a result of illicit drug use. Some have even called her a “stoner.”
