(PrimeChronicle.org) – El Paso District Attorney Bill Hicks announced he is going to appeal a judge’s ruling to release over 200 illegal aliens into the country. The migrants were arrested on riot charges. On March 21, 2024, a group of up to 200 military-age males charged the border and overwhelmed Texas National Guard and Border Patrol officers. The judge has ordered that the invaders be released into the United States.
The crowd of men became aggressive and one American officer can be seen pushing against the crowd, possibly using his gun as a makeshift baton to beat back the invading force. Video of the incident shows a total of seven soldiers defending a wide gap where a fence and rolls of barbed wire appeared to be torn down and shoved to the sides of the opening. Most of the illegal aliens wore hoodies and other face coverings. The illegal aliens were stopped by a fortified fence where they were arrested on riot charges. There are no reports of the invaders being charged with illegally entering the country, however, they are being charged with assaulting public servants.
Two additional officers can be seen standing near the second fence. One appears to engage with one invader through the fence. From the video it appears that a total of ten officers were charged with defending the breach.
Reports vary, between 100 to 200 men charged the border. An additional 100 illegal aliens, including women and children, stood behind the invading force. Women and children are frequently used by cartel coyotes as tools to aid bad actors illegally entering the country. The cartels learned that families often receive easier treatment and more sympathy. However, as the border crisis raged on, many officers began to report seeing the same children on multiple occasions. It is suspected that these children are part of a human trafficking ring.
In response to the violent incident Customs and Border patrol have increased patrols around El Paso.
