(PrimeChronicle.org) – John Kirby, former assistant to the Secretary of defense for Public Affairs and current NSC Spokesperson, was caught off guard after Fox News’ Peter Doocy asked Kirby to elaborate on President Biden’s “Don’t” policy.
Doocy asserted that Iran “Did” go against Biden’s vague warning. Kirby could only respond by repeating that the attack against Israel failed. Given the severity of events, Biden has returned to the White House from his Delaware beach house to address growing tensions. Biden returned from an extended weekend at Rehoboth Beach on April 14th.
During an exchange with Doocy at a press conference, the President also refused to answer what the United States’ response would be to Iran’s major assault against Israel. Biden did not offer an answer, leaving Americans and the world wondering what will happen next.
Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn spoke on April 13th and asserted that Biden granted Iran billions of dollars and went on to point out that under Trump Iran was “broke”. Blackburn emphasized that “Don’t” does not constitute a foreign policy.
Although Biden has not articulated what response the US will make, the President has remained steadfast in his commitment to Israel. Jake Sullivan, National Security Advisor of the United States, had a phone meeting with Israeli National Security Advisor, Tzachi Hanegbi, to reassure Israel of America’s “Ironclad” commitment to the country. Additionally, United States Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, also emphasized support for Israel.
During an episode of “Meet the Press” on NBC News, Kirby reiterated Biden’s “Don’t” approach to foreign policy. When asked by NBC News host Kristen Welker if the situation around Israel and Iran has expanded into a “wider war”, Kirby doubled down on Biden’s policy stating “I don’t believe it needs to”. Welker pushed more and emphasized that it appears there is already a wider war. Kirby doubled down again and responded that the president “doesn’t” feel that a larger war needs to happen.
