KS Passes Bill Banning Chinese Land Ownership Near Military

(PrimeChronicle.org) – On May 1st, 2024, President Biden announced that America’s economic struggles are due to racism and xenophobia. The announcement coincides with May 1st, the first day of American Asian Heritage Month. Biden suggested that increased immigration could solve financial challenges. Biden said countries like China and Japan are failing economically because of xenophobia. Biden added that India and Russia are too xenophobic to succeed.

While Biden droned on about Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, the Kansas House put forth a bill that would limit Chinese investors’ ability to purchase land in the state. The bill, labeled as SB-172, would prevent corporations as well as subsidiaries from purchasing non-residential properties near military installations.

In June of 2023, Johnson County Kansas representatives reviewed a massive tax incentive reportedly meant to encourage China to develop the region. A local man along with a number of his neighbors expressed that they were deeply concerned about CCP-backed companies gaining a presence in the county.

County commissioners ultimately approved of the tax incentive. CCP-backed cooperation Cnano, is set to construct an over 330,000 square-foot compound in the county.

As global tensions rise, many worry that China or other hostile nations will use AI to develop and eventually launch weapons of mass destruction. The United States as well as over 50 additional countries, excluding China and Russia, have agreed to not allow AI to handle weapons of mass destruction. The State Department is trying to persuade China and Russia to announce that they will join the 50-plus nations and denounce the use of AI to manage weapons of mass destruction.

The goal of the international partnership is to ensure that nuclear weapons are exclusively controlled by humans, not artificial intelligence.

The new law would prevent foreign investors from purchasing land within 100 miles of an American military base. Resident properties are exempt. The bill is awaiting the governor’s signature.
